AS the world witnessed the 2015 Melbourne cup horse race across the globe, in Honiara the Melbourne cup fever also hit hard on local fans who took time to watch competitive race on TV live yesterday at Golf club in East Honiara.
In Honiara some local crazy fans of the 2015 horse race Melbourne cup gathered at the Golf club to cheer for their favourite’s horse.
Most of the local supporters who turnout to watch their favourite horse on the big screen stood up with hopes as they cheered for the respective horse number.
The local winner of the horse number 19, Prince of Penzance who did not want be named shouted with joy as he watched his number 19 horse cross the line.
It was history in itself where the first female jockey Michelle Payne won much to the delight of the local ladies in attendance.
Beside the main horse race competition winner, special prizes also award most outstanding dressing code during the day.
The winner of the European hat goes to Juska Jan, European dress to Rueta leong, and best Shirt dressing for men goes to Brenden Nerbal.
A good high number of interested spectators came out to watch the exciting Melbourne Cup race on Tuesday.
