Kastom Gaden Association (KGA) is organising a conference for its farmers in the country this week.
The four days conference will see local farmers are from Isabel, Malaita, Makira, Choiseul, Western and Guadalcanal provinces coming together to share their experiences and learn new ideas from each other.
Plant Material Network coordinator Thecla Limai said the conference is being organised every two years as part of enlightening the farmers on areas affecting their works especially the experience on organic farming in the country.
“It was aimed at improving the knowledge and techniques of farmers when doing their farming activities back in their provinces.”
She said these will also help farmers to work together with each other on the ideas of looking after, controlling, planting and marketing their local foods.
KGA promotes organic farmer in the country.
