A father who admitted he had sexual intercourse with his eldest daughter and attempted to rape his other daughter will be sentenced in the High Court.
Principal Magistrate Jim Seuika has committed the 41-year-old father from Isabel, to the High Court on Friday.
The father of six who cannot be named to protect his daughters’ identity will appear in the High Court on August 22.
The defence has asked the court to sentence his client in the Honiara Magistrate Court but based on the seriousness of the offences and given that there were a series of offences that occurred during a period of time, the matter was asked to go before the High court.
The accused had sex with his 17 year-old daughter on three occasion last year and this year, twice at their home at night and once whilst on their way to the bush to cut wood for their house.
He then tried to rape his 14-year-old daughter whilst she was sleeping in her room.
The mother of the victims was in Honiara when most of the incidents occurred.
Whitlam Togamae of Whitlam K Togamae Lawyers represents the father while Crown Prosecutor Nelson Dhita is representing the State.
