MORE than 30 fathers from Susu community in Rovatu Catholic parish, central-east Guadalcanal have successfully completed their training over the weekend.
The training was aimed at equipping fathers with leadership knowledge on how to lead their families and to be role model.
It started Friday and ended on Sunday.
According to John Toki, this initiative was established some years ago just like other ministries in Churches like women’s and youth ministries.
“It is indeed a good thing to have you all during these three days workshop,” chairman of Susu organising committee Matthew Aiini said.
“I know that you’re busy fathers but during the course of this training, I hope you receive some effective knowledge to lead your families for prosperity,” he added.
Mr Aiini said that through the training they are all reminded to work together with their families.
“We must work together with our wives to bring up good families at home.
“We must know our roles as fathers nowadays in order to have a good family.”
Mr Toki said that it was an enjoyable training for fathers and even some women who come to listen to the programme.
“It is like reminding the fathers of their God given roles to lead their families into success.”
Fr Lawrence Samani and others from the Roman Catholic in Honiara facilitated the training.
The training was supported by Earth Movers logging company that operates in the area.
