Findem Back Family Association Solomon Islands (FBFASI) is about to establish and operates on its objective to reunite long lost black birding descendants who traced their origin to Solomon Islands.
This was reveal by Cecil Ono, the elected president for FBFASI who is currently preparing the relevant documents for the registration of the group.
Speaking to the media, Ono said that foreigners of Solomon Islands descent should be recognised by the laws of this country so that they could freely move in to visit their families and relatives.
Mr Ono said, that they are working on the constitution of FBFASI which is nearly complete now.
“This is so that they could register the association to fight for the rights of black birding descendants who live in Australia, Fiji and other places around the world.”
He said, that FBFASI constitution will recognise and push for the rights of these people to acquire dual citizenship, which will keep their bond with their family and relatives in the Solomon and their birth country.
Mr Ono said, that many of these Solomon Islanders descendants are business people who are well-off in their birth country, but the idea to form FBFASI is to reunite these people with their families and relatives in Solomon Islands and also provide them the opportunity to come and run business here to generate more income for the government.
