The team of six Fiji athletes who competed in the Australian Junior Championship in Sydney failed to qualify for the Youth Olympic Games to be held in China in August.
The event in Australia was a wildcard opportunity for Fiji to make the cut for the games.
Personal bests were achieved by some, while Keasi Naidroka was the only athlete to make it to a final.
Naidroka progressed from the boys Under-17 100-meter preliminary race Monday at Sydney Olympic Park, clocking 11.21 seconds.
In the final, he ran a time of 11.38 seconds to finish in sixth place.
Albert Miller Jnr ran in the U18 100m prelims and clocked 11.43 seconds, while Kayla Yee having returned from a knee injury, managed a personal best of 12.76 secs in the women’s U18 sprint.
Miller and Yee also ran in the 200m event last week.
Tafa Varea competed in the Discus Throw but fouled four times from six attempts.
Farasiko Mualevu competed in the mens U18 800m, Meresiana Talayawa was disqualified in the women’s 800m preliminaries and also didn’t qualify in her 400m event.
