A Fiji boxing delegation has arrived in Honiara ahead of the Pacific Boxing Challenge 2023 in Honiara next week.
The Challenge is set for June 21st to June 22nd at the Multi Purpose Hall.
The Fijian boxing delegation consisted of 17 boxers and five officials while another three boxers will arrive next week before the fight date.
Head of the delegation Ulutavuki told Star Sport that they will be competing in all the weight categories.
“We will be competing in all the weight categories during the tournament, apart from that our squad also consists of former common wealth Pacific games representatives
“With my current squad, I hope they can perform at their best during the competition next week and I am looking forward for it, “Ulutavuki said.
Ulutavuki thanked the Solomon Island Amateur Boxing Association (SIABA) for the invitation.
“We are thankful for the Solomon Island Amateur Boxing Association for the invitation, it a good opportunity for both teams to gear themselves up for the Pacific Games later this year,” Ulutavuki added.
The Fiji boxing delegation is in camp the Republic of Fiji Military Force, Navuakece Camp, and Task Force Cori Mada at GPR in East Honiara.
They kicked off their trainings straight after their arrival in Honiara on Thursday.
