Netball Fiji will announce its squad to prepare for upcoming international matches.
Netball Fiji held its first trials Saturday with more than 74 players attending.
NF vice-president Vivien Koster was impressed with the outcome.
“Players from Nadroga/Navosa, Nadi, Lautoka attended the trials,”she said.
“These players are very talented.”
Selectors will select an extended squad of 24 following the trials.
“The reason we are selecting the 24 players is because we have a long calendar and we need to have players who can fill in places for players who gets injured.”
Fiji is preparing to host Papua New Guinea and the Northern Ireland in May.
“These are both international ranked tournaments and this will be a good start for us for the season as we prepare for the Pacific Netball Series in June,” Koster said.
The PNS will be held in Cook Islands in June. Fiji will not only walk into the competition with their aim to defend their title but also to qualify for the 2015 World Cup which will be hosted by Australia.
Plans are also in line for the South Africa tour in September.
Netball Fiji is optimistic of participating in the Commonwealth Games in July.
