Suva (Fiji Times) – THE Fiji Football Association will give breaks to the teams to cater for the other domestic and international representations.
The Vodafone Premier League starts this weekend with two matches scheduled between Rewa and Ba while Lautoka will play Nadroga.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal said they had a busy calendar ahead.
“The national league is resuming and things are slowly getting back to normal again for everyone,” he said.
“According to the plan the league season should end in September. However, we have other commitment as well which have to be taken into account.
“We will have to take time and stop the national league competition to allow players and teams to prepare for OFC Nations Cup, Fiji FACT and Battle of the Giants tournament.”
Pal said districts would also be given a break during the Olympic Games.
“We will be having a minimum number of league matches during Brazil tour because most of the players will be part of the national team,” he added.
