Solomon Islands Fiji Community Association (SIFCA) will be staging three fundraising drives this month.
This is to support the Fiji cyclone victims back in Fiji. Therefore the community is now calling on the general public for support.
Speaking to local media in a press conference yesterday afternoon Fiji Honorary Consul to Solomon Islands Atueta Balekana said, the association will be holding three fundraising drives in Honiara in aid of the cyclone victims in Fiji.
The first fundraising will be kicking off on this coming Saturday 5th of March with a disco night at the Iron Bottom Sound Hotel.
Tickets are on sale for $50 at the following outlets Barack Shop at Ranadi, Barack Shop at Kukum, Tai Movies Point Cruz and Brilliant International Movies Shop at Kukum.
Opening time for the first fundraising drive is 9pm and will be closed at 1am, live entertainment will provided and raffle tickets will also on sale during the night.
The second fundraising drive is a Corporate dinner which will be held on the Saturday 12th March at the Heritage Park Hotel starting at 6pm.
Mr.Balekana said for the corporate dinner the cost per table is $10,000.
The final fundraising drive which is known as the family day will be held on the 19th of March at the Telekom grounds.
He said the third and the final fundraising drive will open for everyone who wishes to donate money and any items for the victims.
Food and drinks will be on sale during the day, he said.
For those who wish to donate money directly to assist the relief work in Fiji, you can directly deposit money into one of their bank accounts.
]“All the money and items that will be collected through these fundraising will be sent to the victims in Fiji”.
Meanwhile the chairman of the fundraising committee Matai Vave is calling on business houses, friends, and families and the general public to come forward and support our brothers and sisters in Fiji during this time of hardship.

Currently the death toll of the cyclone stays at 44 with a total of 34,629 people still displaced without homes.
