BOARDERS FC and Auki Eels secured a place in the Auki futsal knockout playoffs after winning their semi-final matches on Tuesday at the Aligegeo futsal court Malaita Province.
In the first semi-final Boaders narrowly beat the determine Deadsand by 2-1 in a nail biting match.
The goals came in the second half of match through Augustine Kafula scoring both goals to seal his team in the grand final.
Deadsand came back strongly in the dying minutes of the game but time stopped their dream for going on to the next round of competition.
In the other semi-final Auki Eels was too good and beat one of the tournament favourites Ailako White to secure their place in the grand final against the 2015 league winners Boarders fc.
Ailako took the lead in the first stanza but the Eels full of confidents and patience coming from behind to level the score seconds before full time.
The Auki Eels continued to score two (2) more goals in the second half to make it 3-1 at full time.
The finals will be today at 3pm third and fourth placing; Deadsand fc to take on Ailako White and the grand final will be at 4pm between Boarders fc and the Auki Eels.
