NATIONAL Training Unit (NTU) is still waiting for payment from Ministry of Finance to pay tickets for students studying in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Vanuatu’s institutions.
Director Clement Tito stated this when he updated the students at his office on Monday.
Mr Tito said, his office is negotiating with the Finance Ministry to release the payment so they can pay the tickets for them.
Solomon Airlines refused to book students studying in PNG after they collected their visas because no payment was received by its office.
One of the officers said, the reason was to avoid losing seats because the payments are not ready on time.
“Once payment arrives, before we will start booking and issuing tickets to students,” the officer said.
Meanwhile, Tito asked students who are still waiting for their visas to be patience because the process normally takes time.
