THE Caretaker Premier of Malaita Province, Martin Fini has acknowledged China for its swift approval of funding for the Kilusakwalo School Hall renovation and extension project.
Speaking at the signing of the MOU for the project at the Chinese Embassy in Honiara last Friday, Mr Fini said the signing and handing over ceremony indicated the strong cordial diplomatic relations between China and Solomon Islands.
He said the Solomon Islands-China relationship kept growing from strength to strength towards a a shared future for equality since it started in 2019.
Mr Fini said Malaita Province greatly acknowledged the MoU signing ceremony.
He said this school hall renovation and expansion MoU signing ceremony was held 8 days after the project proposal was submitted and therefore lauded the Chinese Ambassador Cai Weiming and Special Envoy to Pacific Island Countries, Qian Bo for making such prompt response in providing much-needed finances.
“I deeply convey our heartfelt gratitude on behalf of my government and the people of Malaita Province to Your Excellency Ambassador Cai Weiming and His Excellency Ambassador Qian BO of the government of the People’s Republic of China for taking the exceptional empathetic decision to support the education needs of our children studying at the Kilusakwalo Community School.
“I sincerely share our gratitude to your Excellency Cai Weiming, His Excellency Bo and the Government of the People’s Republic of China for this tremendous funding support.
“This truly reflects our cordial friendship. The new quality school hall building will be called China-Solomon Islands Friendship Hall.
“This symbolizes the strong and futuristic determination that exists with a shared future for equality in our friendship.
“This signifies mutual understanding through our cordial friendship with confidence in a long-term positive outlook to invest in building a better education for our human resources for a better tomorrow,” Mr Fini said.
Caretaker Premier Fini also touched on the newly established sister relations between Malaita Province and China’s Jiangsu Province, saying this win-win cooperation friendship will promote mutual benefits in economics and trade, agriculture, fisheries and livelihood improvement as well as nurtured community participative programs.
“I have confidence in the win-win collaboration and cooperation of our governments. We will utilize this generous support sincerely rendered by the People’s Republic of China to achieve tangible outcomes and benefits with a shared future for equality for better education development of our children that will create a better tomorrow for our endurable social and economic prosperity.”
Mr Fini said he optimistic that respect for the principle of free will, equality and friendship will continue to facilitate exchanges and cooperation at all levels to achieve a fruitful win-win journey for economic prosperity.
