Solomon Islands Electricity Authority (SIEA) trading as Solomon Power has a new and first female Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
She is Mrs. Delilah Kekea Homelo.
Her appointment was announced in a press statement this afternoon by David K.C.Quan, OBE, Chairman of the Board and Directors of Solomon Islands Electricity Authority (SIEA) trading as Solomon Power.
“The Chairman of the Board and Directors of Solomon Islands Electricity Authority (SIEA) trading as Solomon Power, are delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Delilah Kekea Homelo as the new Chief Executive Officer of Solomon Power.”
Her appointment is effective immediately, the chairman confirmed.
This appointment follows a comprehensive recruitment process, with all things being considered.
Mrs. Homelo, a Solomon Islands national from Guadalcanal & Malaita is the first ever female to be appointed as CEO for Solomon Power, a very proud moment indeed for all of us.
Mrs. Homelo, brings over 14 years of extensive experience in management and leadership within the electricity sector, as well as in banking and finance in Solomon Islands.
Prior to her appointment, Mrs. Homelo was Solomon Power’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Customer Services.
Following the retirement of the previous CEO in August 2024, she has been fulfilling the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer until her appointment.
Additionally, Mrs. Homelo has also previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Solomon Power.
Mrs. Homelo is a Certified Practicing Accountant of CPA Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting & Information System from University of South Pacific (USP) in Fiji.
She is currently a Council Member of Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants and represented Solomon Power on the Pacific Power Association Board.
Throughout her tenure at Solomon Power, Mrs. Homelo participated in numerous training programs and workshops including Women in Leadership, Renewable & Sustainable Energy and Energy Transition Planning and is a speaker on leadership forums giving her a strong foundation for the role.
