IT’S been confirmed the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Christian Ramofafia, has been suspended pending an investigation.
Secretary to Cabinet James Remobatu confirmed the suspension, but declined to divulge reasons for the decision.
“The decision came from the Public Service Commission,” Mr Remobatu said.
“So I cannot disclose the allegations levelled against Ramofafia,” he added.
He said the allegation is not related to the controversial beche-demer saga that has engulfed the ministry in the previous months.
Mr Remobatu said Patterson Lusi is currently the care-taker permanent secretary.
Officials from the Public Service Commissioner were on holiday. No one was available for comment.
Ministry officials spoken to also confirmed their PS is currently being suspended.
