Two fishermen were rescued by National Fisheries Development (NFD) fishing boat towards New Britain in Papua New Guinea on Saturday.
They were on a fishing trip early Friday morning when their 15-horse powered engine encountered a mechanical problem.
Reports said they were drifting towards New Britain in Papua New Guinea before a fishing boat sighted and recused them.
They were transported to Parara island before the police rescue team and nurses from Gizo hospital assisted.
They were transported to Gizo hospital for medical attention and are reported to be recovering well.
