THE Oceania Hockey Federation (OHF) has recently released the match schedules for the Hockey 5s competition for theSol2023 Pacific Games this month.
The Pacific Games Hockey competition in Honiara are scheduled to take place from Tuesday 28 November to Friday 1 December 2023. The matches will be played at the newly constructed National Hockey Centre.
According to OHF, all matches will be played in a round-robin format, which will be followed by the play-off for medals.
Host nation, Solomon Islands, will play their first match against Tonga on Day 1 of the tournament. They will go on to play against Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea on Day 2 and Day 3 respectively. Solomon Islands will play their final match of the tournament against Fiji on Day 4.
The tournament will feature both Men’s and Women’s teams. The Men’s teams include Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea (PNG). The women’s teams include Fiji, Samoa, PNG, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu.
