A proposal document of D10 Floating Motel is ready and will be submitted to the government responsible ministries next week.
The proposed floating motel is the first of its kind to be built in the country.
The D10 3 story floating Motel was locally initiated by Langalanga man Timothy Mauridala who inspires to create a new approach which may engulf the indigenous majority in Langalanga who live in rural area.
Mr. Mauridala said the proposed motel is a unique project, one among business houses in the country in which it will be able to communicate and relate to issue faced by the indigenous majority in the country.
“The proposed project will recognize the difficulty faced by indigenous minority especially indigenous women and the disadvantaged.
It works to overcome difficulties through the use of awareness tools that do not require literacy
According to the project proposal on the beneficiary, a total of 1700 households, 19,287, total population with 4,875 women, 4716 men,3,125 boys, 2,899 girls, 3,672 children are expected to benefit from the project.
The goal of the project is to create resilience and sustainable tourism destination in the country and to improve the living standard and improve the quality of life of indigenous village women and their families in the Langalanga lagoon.
However, Mr. Mauridala invites the prime minister, Ministry of Culture Tourism, Ministry of Development Planning and Aid coordination, Malaita Provincial government and foreign partners for support.
He is expected to meet with government leaders to discuss the proposed project.
