Suva (Fiji Times) – THE Fiji Sugar Corporation Penang Golf Club Course in Rakiraki will be a hive of activity this weekend with the staging of two tournaments.
On Saturday, an 18 holes stable ford event sponsored by Supreme Fuel will be played while on Sunday a tournament will be held to mark Valentine’s Day.
Interest in the sport is increasing in Rakiraki with the club executives now focussing on getting women also involved in the weekly competitions.
The club’s president Anish Chand said they have requested all the players to bring their wives and partners for a special ladies competition on Valentine’s Day.
“We are hoping to introduce ladies golf and the turn out on Sunday will help us gauge their interest.”
Meanwhile, the club also hosted two tournaments last weekend sponsored by Fiji Bandag.
