THE Livelihood Sector Committee (LSC) which deals with the distribution of relief food supplies have ended their food distribution task in Honiara.
The National Situational report issued by the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) on Friday revealed this.
“As of 8th March 2022, a total of 36,679 households have been covered under the food relief distribution.
“Therefore, as of 10th March 2022, the LSC have closed the distribution of food relief per household,” the report said.
It further stated that additional, 2827 individuals (in isolation) have been assisted with food deliveries since 23 rd January 2022.
The report said plan is underway with Western Province PEOC to assist Shortland Islands for food relief and logistics support.
“Livelihood Sector Committee continues to implement and activate its operational procedures including strict practices of COVID-19 protocols. “Livelihood Sector Committee is collaborating with NGOs and other key players to develop cash food vouchers for future events,” the report said.
