ONE of the long term serving women in the Solomon Islands national Parliament, Elizabeth Andresen was called to rest this week.
Late Elizabeth Andresen served as the speaker, Deputy Speaker, clerk, deputy clerk to the parliament during the terms, 1993-1995, and 1997-2001.
After she moved to South Pacific Oil (SPO) as a human resources manager where she worked until her death over the weekend.
“Her great contribution towards Parliament will always be remembered,” her colleagues in parliament posted in the Forum Solomon Islands International (FSII).
One of her relatives told the Solomon Star that she was pronounced dead over the weekend after suffering from an illness since last year.
Her funeral service was held at the All Saints Church on Tuesday, before her body was transported back to her home village, Ripo in Ulawa, Makira/Ulawa province.
