FOUR men have been arrested in relation to a ruthless attack on a man at the Kingsley Kai bar at Point Cruz, Honiara over the weekend.
The attack was believed to be in relation to logging disagreements between landowners and a logging company in Renbel Province.
Though no details of the arrested men have been released as the matter is now before the Courts, Police revealed that all four men have been remanded in custody following their arrests, adding that all four were arrested in relation to the attacks.
“All four have been charged with one count of attempted murder and other associate charges.
“The arrests were made not long after the incident, following leads provided for by the public,” Police Commissioner, Frank Prendergast said.
Mr Prendergast said that he was indeed pleased with the prompt Police response that resulted in the arrest of the four men, adding that the general public had also assisted tremendously in providing information which led to the arrests.
He added that the matter is now with the Courts, however adding that investigations are still open and continuing.
Mr Prendergast meanwhile pleaded on the public to assist Police if anyone has information in relation to the attacks.
