The Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening Program (MPGSIP) has posted four specialists to serve the Makira Ulawa Provincial (MUP) Government under the Ministry’s Provincial Capacity Development Fund.
The former Minister of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening Program Commins Mewa announced the postings Feb 17 in Kira Kira, the provincial capital, at the opening of the current induction training workshop for the newly elected members of the Makira Ulawa Provincial Assembly now in its second week.
The induction training workshop that started February 17 will end on March 5.
He said newly created specialist posts are Provincial Planning Specialist, Provincial Engineer, Provincial Procurement Specialist, and an Accounting Specialist.
Mr. Mewa said he hoped the inclusions of the specialists in the Makira Ulawa Provincial establishment would add value to the whole process of service delivery to the province.
The Makira Ulawa Provincial Government has been disqualified from PCDF funding for its 2019/20 capital funding in the recent assessment.
But Mr. Mewa said the specialists are technical officers who have been providing support to the provincial executive to ascertain services are delivered to the people.
He said the inclusions of the qualified officers by the ministry under its Strengthening Program shall continue to provide the province with technical support and training of officers to gain long term sustainability.
