Temotuan’s in Lata and Honiara are kindly asking the acting premier Fr Brown Beu to allow a new person to lead the province this round.
A number of people spoken to expressed dislike with Fr Beu’s leadership style.
One concern Temotuan said Fr Beu during his tenure spent a lot of time in Honiara rather than concentrating on his duties in Lata.
“There are outstanding issues Fr Beu’s former executive failed to address, particularly the logging issue on Vanikoro.
“The issuance of license to the company operating there did not follow proper procedures and the premier was responsible for the government that dealt with licensing alongside the national government.
Fr Beu was also accused on the issue during the provincial government’s dissolution meeting last month.
But Fr Beu told this paper despite people’s criticisms of his leadership style; his government has implemented some significant projects.
“These are construction of the Landing market, refurbishment of Temotu provincial government office and the Lomlom airport.”
Fr Beu is likely to put his hand up again when nomination for the post is opened.
Some MPAs have indicated their interest in re-electing Fr Beu to the top post for the second term.
Fr Brown Beu defended his Nangu ward seat last December during the provincial election.
