Dear Editor – Please allow me to respond to a letter by Fred Erick Tehaka carried through this column on the 15th October 2015. I will be responding to each point raised by Mr.Tehaka against Hon.Lence Tagosia.
A ghost?
The intent of Tehakas’ letter was nothing less an attempt to publicly discredit our father and elder, being brewed by personal hatred and jealousy. In spite of his attempt to hide behind the name of his wifes’ relative/wantok, everybody knows who this man is. The public must be wondering why he decided not to use his real name. For the sake of the very close relationship between our mothers, I have decided to call him Amato just for now. In our community, Mr. Amato has never done a single contribution for the good of our people apart from stealing. I must warn you to refrain from trying to get favor and credit just by stepping on peoples’ head in the media or else I will reveal your real name and your business relations with Mr.Amato in my next letter if you decide to go that far.
Hon Premier
I do agree with you on the upbringing received by the Premier from his father because he was a highly respected leader in Rennell and Bellona. Unfortunately, some of the premier’s actions have failed to match the picture you are trying to paint for the sake of humiliating Lence publicly. It will be wise for you to stop because you are exposing someone’s status to come under attack because of your own stupidity and ill upbringing.
Politics
The heated debate between the Premier and Lence is a normal point scoring tactic by politicians in the Solomon Islands, in case you are too damn to figure it out. Your choice to personalize politics is also an outcome of poor parenting and outright stupidity from a well-educated person as you claim yourself to be. It would be wise that we leave it to the mandated leaders to do their bit on this.
Education, traditional & political leadership
How on earth could you think to be among the educated few in East Rennell when you used a fake high school certificate to get a placement at a vocational school as well as using a fake certificate from Batuna to get into SINU? A Fairy tale isn’t it? Why can’t you mention your termination from your previous employer? Stealing is the only skill you are very good at and you should not boast about it because that is your identity. Traditionally, you can never be a leader because you cannot get it by simply photocopying and scanning a piece of paper. Your recent election result speaks very well of who you really are in East Rennell. If you think you are the right person to lead our people, try it again in 2018 if you are still dreaming to be a politician.
