A GROUP known as the “Friends of No. 9’ recently supported the National Referral Hospital (NRH) in Honiara by donating equipment to support the medical officers.
The generous support was initiated by Robert Goh, Eddy Leung, and their families.
With the support the NRH staff will soon enjoy a refreshed workspace, complete with new office furniture and essential kitchen items.
The donation items include: four sets of sofas, five office tables, a 15-door file cabinet, two coffee tables, one electric kettle, six office chairs, three lockers, one coffee maker, one filing cabinet, two water urns, 1 microwave oven and two cordless kettles.
These thoughtful contributions will greatly enhance the working environment, transforming staff lounges and offices into more inviting and functional spaces, it was highlighted.
“This will help our team recharge and stay focused as they continue their vital work caring for the community. “We’re so grateful for this generous gesture,” said Dr. Patrick Toito’ona.
“Our staff pour their hearts into their work every day, and this donation is a wonderful way to show them they are valued.
“A comfortable workspace and a good cup of coffee can make all the difference!” Friends of No. 9 shared their enthusiasm for supporting the National Referral Hospital.
“We know how much the hospital does for our community, and we wanted to give back in a way that directly supports the people behind the care,” he said.
Mr. Robin Kho, a member of Friends of No. 9 said “the donation is a small way of saying ‘thank you’ for all they do.”
This donation is a reminder of the power of community support and its ability to make a meaningful impact.
