Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) says payment of all allowances for front-liners will still be paid.
Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry Pauline McNeil made the assurance following questions raised yesterday during the Office of the Prime and Cabinet sponsored talk-back show to update the country on COVID-19.
She explained, raising of payments for allowances have to go through certain process and it takes time.
It had to be verified and vetted by a team from the ministry before it goes to the finance ministry.
She further explained at the finance ministry the payments have to go through compliance process before payments are being made.
The hardworking PS said all the front-liners have been receiving their allowances and will get their allowances for their work.
Meanwhile, she continues to thank all the front-liners for their commitment in carrying out their work to protect the country against the deadly virus..
Secretary to Prime Minister (SPM) Dr. Jimmie Rodgers who is still stuck in Fiji also thanked the front-liners for their continued effort in protecting the country by ensuring the borders are kept closed from the virus.
Chief Of Staff at the Prime Ministers Office Robson Djokovic also took the time to thank the nation, leaders, communities, and the front-liners for ensuring this nation continues to remain free from the virus.
