Passengers booked for the Lomlom flights operated by Solomon Airlines before Christmas are frustrated and disappointment over repeated cancellations, which has been going on for over a week.
Many travellers, including families, have had their holiday plans disrupted, with no clear communication or updates from the airline.
“We were excited to visit our relatives for the holidays, but the ongoing cancellations have left us stranded,” said one disappointed passengers at Henderson airport today.
Others shared similar concerns about the lack of alternative arrangements.
Solomon Airlines has, apologized for the inconvenience saying the cancellations were due to bad weather and aircraft maintenance issues.

On Thursday morning, passengers hoping to travel to Lomlom arrived at the airport, only to find out that only the Santa Cruz flight was able to operate, while the Lomlom flight was canceled again.
One frustrated passenger, who wishes to be called as John, said, “We don’t understand why flights to Gizo, Munda, Taro, and other places are going ahead, but Lomlom flights keep getting canceled all week.
“It’s poor service, and it shows there are issues with flight scheduling. Maybe new staff should take over these duties.”
Other passengers demanded full refunds for their tickets, saying it was the airline’s fault and they should not be penalised with deductions.
Lomlom Airport, located in the Reef Islands of Temotu Province, has a one-way fare of SBD 3,105, and a return ticket costs SBD 6,210 more than a ticket to Brisbane.
