THE funeral service of the second UXO explosion in Honiara a fortnight ago will be held today, at the Kukum SDA Church.
The funeral service will commence at 10 am and the process will be live-streamed on the Hope Channel’s page on Facebook for distant viewers, mostly friends and family members.
Late Charles Kaukui Noda was the second victim of the bomb explosion, after the death of his friend Raziv Hilly on Sunday 9th May 2021. His wife was also a victim in the bomb blast incident.
Mr. Noda passed on on Saturday night after he can’t survive the bomb wound on his body.
Noda was born in March 1983 and died in May 2021.
In 2018 Noda was one of the Chevening Scholarship recipients. He received his scholarship award from the former British High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Paul Dryden.
Officer-In-Charge (IOC) for the Ordnance Disposal (EOD) confirmed in police media that the bomb that killed the two important persons was US 105mm High Explosive Projectile.
