The nation’s long time cry to own a proper and standard futsal home in the country will soon be a thing of the past.
This follows the successful dialog president of the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) William Lai and FIFA high level delegation led by FIFA vice President and OFC President David Chung held this week in Honiara.
“Our fustal project should have kicked off but the recent change of leadership of the FIFA governing body has delayed the project,” Lai said.
Lai said during their meeting this week with the FIFA delegation they discussed about the project.
“Definitely the project will kick off very soon,” he said.
He said FIFA development committee will meet on the 5th of September 2017 to go through the project.
“Once the project is approved, SIFF will sign an agreement with a contractor that has been agreed to take on the job to build the futsal court,” he added.
Star Sports understands the DCCG government has already signed an agreement with SIFF last year to help support the project with its third phase.
