GUADALCANAL Football Association (GFA) will host the Guadalcanal Cup (G-Cup) in September in a date yet to be set.
According to GFA executive member, Patrick Miniti, it will use the tournament to select players to prepare for the Solomon Cup next year.
Miniti said it is timely to organize this tournament to select a squad so that in preparation for the Solomon Cup, they can do better.
“We don’t do well, so we want to do better,” he added.
Miniti said GFA will work together with Honiara Football Association (HFA) to stage the tournament.
The games are likely to be played at Honiara or Guadalcanal plains areas.
GFA first hosted the Guadalcanal Cup in 2014.
Central Gold is the current champion.
