The Pacific Games Council president Vidhya Lakhan has started the first part of his visit by meeting with the Solomon Islands Deputy Prime Minister, Honourable Manasseh Maelanga yesterday.
However the Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands (NOCSI) have not revealed the outcome of the meeting but revealed they will do so in an organized press conference today.
It is most likely that the meeting is about the Pacific Games Council (PGC) hearing the first hand information of the Government’s strong commitment and readiness to invest substantially and aggressively in should the Solomon Islands wins the bid to host the Games.
The recent submission of the bid proposal was endorsed and approved by the Cabinet of the DCC Government.
The Interim Organising Committee prepared and presented, through the Ministry of Home Affairs, five Cabinet Papers which were all endorsed and approved by the Cabinet.
Star Sports understands following all these meetings Mr. Lakhan and the Executive Director Andrew Minogue will visit proposed sites for sporting facilities.
Meanwhile the two men also met with the Opposition group yesterday.
