The Gender Parity Basketball competition enters the finals four following tough semi finals played last Sunday at the Multipurpose Hall.
The day’s opening match saw Sunrise women’s basketball team led by the experienced Basia sisters Sunrise proved too strong for the young D-fenders side securing the first spot for the women’s category grand final following a 56-40 win.
The second match featured the men’s first semi final that ended in favour of the young Gunners following an impressive 62-38 win over Pinoy.
The second women’s semi finals was yet another entertaining match with Andel women’s team securing second final spot for the women winning by only a point difference 45-44 against SOSA.
The day’s final match was the highlighted match of the day which depicts a grand final showdown between the two top rivals, Blazers and Marist men’s basketball teams.
This was the match that had supporters at the edge of their seat throughout all four quarters of the game which ended in favour of Marist, 47-39.
Sunrise will take on Andel for the grand final while D-fenders will take on SOSA for the losers final of the women’s category.
Marist will take on Gunners for the men’s grand final and Blazers will take on Pinoy for the third and fourth playoff.
According to organizers, the finals for both categories will be staged after the Solomon Games.
This is due to the tight scheduled of the use of the Multipurpose Hall as of this coming weekend.
