WOMEN in Ughele, South New Georgia Rendova and Tetepare (SNR&T) Constituency have celebrated the festive season at Buruku Campus, Western Province.
David Gina, Member of Parliament for South New Georgia Rendova and Tetepare (SNR&T) Constituency was the guest of honour who officially opened the programme.
Gina was invited by Ughele women to participate in the New Year 2025 celebration, which included a welcome ceremony, a march parade, speeches, and New Year songs by different women zones within Ughele Village.
Light refreshments followed for Gina and his official guests.
Gina was accompanied by his Constituency Project Officer (CPO), Douglas Alex. Ughele Women representative Sharana Samule welcomed Gina and his delegation, highlighting water supply and sanitation as main challenges for women in Ughele. In response, CPO Douglas assured that the SNR&T Constituency would address these challenges.
The celebration started with fireworks at mid-night 1st January 2025 to welcome the New Year 2025.
