BODY turns magnetic after getting COVID-19 vaccine seems like a taboo topic to discuss in the country that is struggling to convince its eligible generation to get the vaccine against the killer virus COVID-19.
Since the rollout of COVID-19 vaccine throughout the world, many footage have emerged on social media of people showing their body turning magnetic by attracting metals, coins, and even cell phones after getting the jab.
In fact, many who have already got the vaccination have not shown any signs of their bodies turning magnetic as claimed by others.
In some rare cases, however it actually happened to others. Their body attracted metals, coins and even mobile phones after being vaccinated, and it is now becoming an issue for the medical experts to explain to the public in order to clear the air.
Recently, a young girl from Malaita Province who got vaccinated in Honiara returned to her home in Baegu Asifola worried about her health status after what she claimed her left shoulder now turns magnetic after receiving her first COVID-19 jab.
The girl who goes by the name of Elisabeth confessed that her body turns weak after getting the vaccine. She also claimed and demonstrated it so that her left shoulder could now attract metals and even mobile phones, including touch phones.
Elizabeth’s claim could not be independently verified.
But while many who got the vaccine do not show such reaction after getting it, Elisabeth’s case is a rare one, which only medical experts could explain.
She explains that whenever she puts a mobile phone or metal on her shoulder where the vaccine was injected, they would stick to her body causing uneasiness in her body.
Some clinics that she visited in Malaita have warned her not to speak about the magnetic issue as police could arrest her for spreading rumours about the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Regardless, Elisabeth said the choice to take up the vaccine should be an individual choice and should not be forced on people.
She said she had already missed her second dose as she promised not to take the second one because of her experience after the first jab.
With that, she said many people who got their COVID-19 jabs are normal and have not complained about the vaccine. She believes her case is a rare one and should not be used to discourage people from taking the COVID-19 vaccine.
In the meantime, Elisabeth is still waiting for the day that the magnetic feeling will go away from her body so that she could lead her normal life again.
Footage of Elisabeth being interviewed by former West Kwara’ae CDO Nicolas Laua is also making the rounds on the social media.
She demonstrated her unique situation as proof that it is no joke that mobile phones actually stuck on her shoulder right on the injection mark.
