DEFENDING Coca-Cola Games girls champion and the pride of Lautoka, Jasper Williams High School kick-tart their preparation to defend the title this year with their inter-house this Friday.
The event to be held at the Lautoka Mission School ground, is a much anticipated affair as many want to represent their school come April in Suva.
Head of PEMAC and last year’s winning coach Tony Raboiliku said they do not want to say too much before the main event but would be working hard as usual.
“We have more attention on us now, and it is something new for the school community, but we are hoping for the best.”
Raboiliku said the victory last year proved that talent existed in the West schools for a sport which had been dominated by schools from the Central Division.
“I hope Lautoka City will support its children more this year for the Coke Games as we have schools here who have some very exceptional athletes who represented Fiji last year.”
Top athletes from Lautoka in recent years include Sereima Liku, Meresiana Vukici and Mereseini Naidau of Jasper.
