GIZO Bahai Local Spiritual Assembly (LSA) in the Western Province has successfully hosted an Institutional meeting last week.
The meeting brought together the members of LSA to discuss key aspects of spiritual and community development.
The gathering, held at the Bahai Centre in Gizo Jah Mountain, attracted a diverse group of attendees, including LSA Community members from Kuzi in Kolombangara, Gizo LSA, Titiana, Nusabaruku and New Mandra LSA.
The meeting focused on advancing and strengthening capacity-building in alignment with the principles of the Bahai Faith.
Participants also explored ways to strengthen community-building efforts and deepen spiritual understanding through meaningful conversations and collective action.
A representative of the Western Province’s Area Teaching Committee (ATC), Evelyn Kaieti expressed gratitude for the strong turnout and engagement by attendees.
She emphasised the importance of such meetings in promoting harmony and development.
“One of the key discussions centred on the role of three protagonists which is the Individual, the Community and the Institutions,’’ she told Solomon Star in an interview yesterday.
‘’In Baha’i terms the three protagonists refer to three key agents of societal transformation as described in the Ruhi Institute study materials. These are individuals, the community and the institutions.
“Each person has the responsibility to develop spiritually and intellectually, while contributing to the progress of society through service.
“Individuals play a crucial role in carrying forward the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh and fostering unity and justice in their communities,” Ms Kaieti said.
Furthermore, she said the Community is a collective space where individuals work together to build a spiritually and socially uplifting environment. The community is where values such as cooperation consultation, and mutual support come to life, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
“And the Institution is the Bahá’í institutions, such as the Local and National Spiritual Assemblies (NSA) and the Universal House of Justice, guide and coordinate efforts to bring about spiritual and social progress. They function with principles of justice, humility, and service, ensuring the community’s needs are met in a consultative and inclusive manner,’’ she added.
Ms Kaieti further added that these three protagonists work in harmony to advance civilisation and implement Bahá’í principles in the world.
“The gathering was an opportunity to reflect on our progress and identify ways to enhance our activities in the community,” the representative said.
“It also allowed us to reconnect with one another and reinforce our commitment to service,” she said.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of dedication amongst participants, who committed themselves to furthering the Bahai Faith teachings and community-building initiatives in Gizo and beyond.
