When Dika Toua received her Silver medal a few days ago – she cried tears of bitterness for having being eluded by that Gold medal.
But did she know something we didn’t?
The little known Nigerian school girl, 16 year old, Chika Amalaha shocked the weigh- lifting community when she easily edged PNG and South Pacific veteran and pocket dynamo Dika Toua to win Gold in the 53kg women’s category.
Overnight, a process begun to test for drugs in the teenager.
A short while ago, Chika failed the doping test – effectively surrendering the title and Gold medal to Dika Toua.
Api Kassman from the Sports Minister’s office told PNG LOOP, Chika’s win was effortless.
“It comes as no surprise, really and we are overjoyed for Dika and PNG and also disappointed that her moment was robbed off her,” he said.
Yesterday, Dika told PNG LOOP she worked so hard for Gold and her tears were those of disappointment.
