GOVERNMENT has announced a minor reshuffle to Permanent Secretaries (PS) which has been made early this week.
The Prime Minister after consulting the Public Service Commission (PSC) pursuant to section 128(2) of the Constitution has made the following minor reshuffle in the transfer and posting of two Permanent Secretaries, a statement from the Government Communication Unit.
The Permanent Secretaries affected are, Mr Shadrach Fanega who is now transferred and posted to the Ministry of Development Planning and Aid Coordination.
He is being replaced by Fred Fakarii who is now in charge of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
Mr Fakarii will also be the supervising permanent secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The statement said these transfers and postings will remain until the current incumbent’s terms of engagement and contract lapses, or until further advice and or decision of the Public Service Commission on a matter before it, whichever occurs first.
Contrary to media reports of an alleged sacking, there is no truth in that report of a sacking, the statement added.
“There is no sacking. These are merely transfers and posting exercises which is permitted under section 128(2) of the Constitution,” Secretary to Cabinet James Remobatu explained.
