THE Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development (MEHRD) has proposed three more charter flights to get students over to Fiji.
National Training Unit (NTU) director Clement Tito revealed this to students during a meeting yesterday.
Five chartered flights have already taken students over to Fiji in the past weeks.
The sixth will fly out tomorrow.
Mr Tito said these three additional charters were arranged to take additional students were who awarded scholarships this year.
He said this year’s allocation rose to 600 awards from the original 278 announced earlier.
The ministry earlier arranged for six charters for the students but with the additional endorsed new intake list, plus ongoing students, three more additional charters were planned which would bring a total of 9 charters.
Up to 600 students have already left on five previous charters.
More than 1,000 students are studying in various universities in Fiji.
Classes for USP will commence on February 16.
