CENTRAL Bank Governor, Denton Rarawa says he was pleased with the outcome of the recent International Monetary Fund (IMF) annual meeting he attended early this month.
Mr Rarawa said as part of the Solomon Islands delegation to the meetings, he was pleased with the outcome.
“In my view the meeting has been very successful. We have meetings with other development partners like the World Bank (WB), IMF and other financial institutions,” Mr Rarawa said.
He said IMF has indicated its willingness to support the country in its recovery after the April floods that has hit hard on the country’s economy.
“IMF is also willing to support the country with technical assistance.”
He said the positive feedback and willingness shown by these international financial institutions to support the country is welcoming for the country.
“As the country continues to recover from the April floods and closure of the Gold Ridge Mine, these positive indications of technical support will assist the country in its quick recovery.
