THE Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government is very committed in prioritizing sports development in the country.
That was according to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home affairs, George Palua when speaking on Sunday at the closing of the Solomon Games at Lawson Tama.
“The government is prioritizing sports in its development structure and we are thankful that it started to throw in its supports now,” Palua said.
Palua added this year was the second of its kind that government was supporting it.
“This is a good sign for us and we do hope that DCC government will focus more on developing sports in our country.”
He said that there will be more upcoming Solomon Games competitions to prepare the country to compete in the Pacific Games in 2023.
“Seeing that government is committed to prioritize sports in the country, it is up us to make use of that support.”
He wished every sport men and women to prepare themselves for the upcoming events.
