Dear Editor – The month July is now near the end and many of us are still standing in the queue to receive our rental payments for the houses used by the government officers.
The delay of releasing these payments is very unusual. If my memory is still sound as it has always been , I hesitate not to say that this is the first time we the landlords are experiencing this newly introduced inhuman treatment.
Although we have always been in full support and belief in the way the government is running the country and managing its resources, the unusually long delay in paying out the house rentals has made us to think twice about its reliability.
It must be understood that most of the landlords were not only elders and seniors of this country, but age wise, they are in their eighties and nineties.
To stand in queue for hours, only to hear, “You! Blo u oketa no printim yet” is unacceptable to the ear. This was the message repeatedly told every day.
It makes us wonder if this going to stop or they’ll continue to repeat the same message in August.
All these unnecessary delay is telling us that unwise use in government funds is in force- unapproved projects have also been funded as well as the approved ones.
When carefulness and wisdom is unheeded, mistake are a likelihood and the mistakes do not appear to be noticeable but the price one has to pay is normally beyond description but the price one has to pay is normally beyond description and disastrously huge.
