THE 10th Executive Government of Guadalcanal Province has vowed to support the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT) to resolve land and social issues and economic challenges.
Premier Willie Atu confirmed this during the celebration of Guadalcanal 40th Second Appointed Day at DC Park in Central Guadalcanal Constituency last week.
“As the Premier of Guadalcanal Province, I want to assure you all that my government will support the Government of National Unity and Transformation to address the unresolved issues pertaining to land, social and economic challenges.
“Speaking of these challenges, they can be achieved through good governance practices and values,” he said.
However, Premier Atu said good governance is not easy to achieve.
Speaking about the 100-Day Policy of the GNUT Government, Premier Atu said he acknowledges GNUT for the 177 policies therein the policy framework because 37 percent of these policies are based on good governance principles.
The Premier Atu-led government is called “Government for Good Governance.”
In a collaborate effort to see the successful implementation of GNUT policy in Guadalcanal Province, the Guadalcanal Provincial Government is aligning its policy with that of GNUT.
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele, in response to Premier Atu, stated that his government is delighted to work with Guadalcanal Province.
He said Guadalcanal Province has hosted many investments in the country like Guadalcanal Plains Palm Oil Limited and Gold Ridge Mining Limited apart from hosting the national capital.
