GUADALCANAL Plantation Palm Oil Limited (GPPOL) has scooped the Solomon Island Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) Prime Minister’s Business Excellence Award.
It is the top award of the prestigious 2021 SICCI Business Excellence Award (BEA).
BEA Award night was held at Coral Sea Resort & Casino West Honiara on Saturday night.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare himself announced and handed over the award to the GPPOL staff members.
GPPOL also scooped the Contribution to Sustainable Development & Community Award.

SICCI Chairman Mr. Ricky Fuo’o said this year has been a difficult and challenging time for all the business in Solomon Islands because of the impact of COVID-19.
“This year is not a difficult and challenging time for our business but also for other business across the world,” he said.
The Business Excellence Award (BEAs) is the chamber’s most prominent awards event that happens every November with an open participation for all businesses and organisations in the Solomon Islands.
It was initiated in 2013 with the support of the Solomon Islands Government and has quickly grown popular within the business community attracting increase submissions over the years.
This year BEA will be hosted with theme “Challenges to opportunities in a COVID-19 World.
The awards ceremony gives the perfect platform for business owners to take a fresh look at their operation and have it assessed by experts.
The BEAs offer unparalleled networking opportunities and the chance to reinforce credibility, pursue new ventures and build profiles.
Overall it is an occasion for celebrating success, sharing stories and inspiring others.
The Awards are separated into categories leading with the top “Prime Minister’s Business Excellence Award (also known as the Prime Minister Award) and individual award for Entrepreneur of the Year.
