A RAPE trial will commence today in the High Court in relation to an incident that occurred at the Kola’a Ridge grave yard, Honiara in 2013.
Peter Kaoni is facing one count of rape for allegedly raping a girl at the Kola’a Ridge grave yard.
He denied the allegation and a trial was listed for yesterday before Chief Justice Sir Albert Palmer.
Resly Brook however, asked the court for an adjournment as he had just received additional statements and needs to get instructions from his client first.
Sir Albert gave the defence time until today to get instructions from his client.
Public Prosecutor Margaret Suifa’asia is representing the State.
