GIZO TOWN council (GTC) has appealed to all Gizo residents to help maintain cleanliness in the township.
Derald Michael of Gizo Town Council said GTC cannot meet the demand because of lack of resources therefore people should take responsibility.
“We have limited resources to carry out the job, so we ask people to take care of the township and be responsible for their wastes.
He said waste management (SWM) is a serious issue that needs the cooperation of every one.
“Residence of Gizo town must keep the town clean and use proper waste management techniques and the designated dumpsite.
“Let’s not be viewers of the environment but treat Gizo town as our home and place to live and do business.”
He added that littering is not only unhealthy but also discourages visitors especially tourists.
