GUADALCANAL province has successfully celebrated its 32nd second appointed day on Monday.
The occasion which convened dignitaries from the national government, Guadalcanal provincial government and members of the public is a proud moment for the province as it commemorates the very day Guadalcanal affirmed to stand as a province by itself.
Monday’s celebration started with formal presentation of speeches by the Provincial Premier of Guadalcanal Anthony Veke and Acting Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga who was the chief guest.
The day was also graced with cultural performances by various cultural groups from Guadalcanal including the exceptional cultural dancers from Sikaiana on Malaita Outer Island (MOI).
The event was also witnessed the presentation of trophies won by athletes representing the province in the recent Solomon Games in Honiara to the Provincial premier Mr Veke.
The program concluded with feasting followed by cultural entertainments.
