THE Empire group of companies has agreed to be the major sponsors of the Telekom S-League franchise Guadalcanal FC for the 2017-2018 sessions.
Guadalcanal club manager and player, Fabrizio Prattico revealed the deal to Star Sports on Friday in an exclusive interview.
Prattico, who had a stint with Western United last session, struck the deal weeks ago upon his return from Italy.
“We have agreed on terms with the director of the Empire group of companies to be our major sponsor,” he said.
“I won’t be giving financial details of the deal but it will cost the company around half a million per session,” he added.
“For sure the company made some sacrifice to build a better team for the new TSL campaign.”
The Italian stressed that in footballing terms, Guadalcanal FC will be more competitive this year.
“Related to soccer we don’t want to be like last session but that doesn’t mean we want to win the TSL.
“For sure will not repeat the result unfortunately Guale had in last session’s campaign,” he stated.
The sponsorship agreement will see Empire Solomon meet players’ salary, training gears and the club’s official kit.
Empire Solomon is an umbrella firm of the Empire group of companies based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Recently this year the company dressed Western United during their OFC Champions League stint.
Director of Empire Group of companies, Alexandra Bushe said the latest sponsorship deal with Guadalcanal FC is part of his company’s contribution towards the socio-economic development of the Solomon Islands.
“This is our continuous support towards the people and community of Solomon Islands.
“It is one of the ways we want to involve in the social and economic development of the country.
“We also want to use our experiences to share with the people of Solomon,” the Empire Solomon director stated.
Latest signing for the club are Lenson Bisili, George Stevenson, Lesley Ramo, Michael Sira, Harrison Mala, and Oscar Sara.
