The organizer of the event and MPA for the ward, Amaziah Keith Rubo has stated in an interview that the depiction of Eagle over mountain on shades of Brown has never been raised in Malango ward after the birth of the province in 1984.
Mr Rubo stressed that he want to show leadership to aspiring leaders. “I want to show leadership, I want people to see and feel that they have an identity and belong to a province,” he said.
In his speech during the opening ceremony he told the youthful crowd gathered here at Betivatu School, that the provincial Government aims to reach out to the rural communities wherever possible.
“We would like our presence to be seen and felt at this rural level,” he said.
Mr. Rubo stated that the Vavanga led Government is the government of the people and it’s important to mark the day among rural people so that all can share on the successes and challenges.
The new MPA who succeeded former political leader, Walton Naezon, had also explained that seven month old assembly will prioritize partnership with the DCC Government, focusing on fundamental and sectorial reform.
